Cover up or rework?
Tell us if you want to keep part of the subject and change specific elements. If you want an entirely different composition, explain what no longer works for you. The size, position, colours and density of the original design affect the options. Not every image suits every cover-up; the scale or concept may need to change.
Photographs that help assess the piece
Take a clear photograph of the whole tattoo in even light without filters, plus a wider view showing its placement. Add measurements in centimetres and mention previous rework. Do not edit the colour or hide parts of the design: the artist needs to understand the starting point. The illustration in this article is a portfolio example, not a promise of the same solution in every case.
New subject, price and appointment
Prepare a few possible directions instead of a single non-negotiable design. Discuss what should disappear, what can remain and whether you are open to changing the size. Feasibility, price and the number of sessions are confirmed individually. For an appointment, specify Mexico City, Querétaro or Monterrey; the exact venue and date are agreed before your visit.
What to send the artist
- Photographs showing the complete tattoo and its placement.
- Size, approximate age and any previous rework.
- What you want to change and several references for the new direction.
- City, convenient dates and size constraints for the new design.
Commission questions
- Can every tattoo be covered?
- No universal promise is possible. Options are discussed after assessing the existing tattoo; your preferred subject may not be suitable.
- Can I get a final price in one message?
- Photographs, dimensions and preferences are needed to discuss an estimate. Final terms and scope are confirmed once the project is agreed.
